Chapter Thirteen: The Same Sin
Kakuzu has always been alone.
Since his birth, he has been abused, beaten, neglected and forced to live on the streets of Tuscany, alone. He has been humiliated by other boys, and his own father who forced him to eat from the cobblestone walkways, surrounded by people by the armoured guards patrolling the streets, and by the women who would laugh when he came their way.
He has always been forced to suffer and endure the hardships of abuse and finally, orphanage, and has had to defend his life and honour with only the skin on his knuckles. Even after escaping Tuscany making it's white-wall

Chapter Twelve: Watching The Limits
"Kakuzu, you bloody idiot, wake up."
When the world swims into focus, the first thing that Kakuzu sees are violet orbs, staring down at him, with a spark of blue behind them. "You fell asleep," Hidan murmurs, and Kakuzu realizes his head is resting in his boyfriend's lap.
He sits upright, then scans Kisame, who has entered the room. "What do you want, Kisame?"
"Mm," Kisame murmurs. "Kid needs to sleep, too, you know."
"Kid?" Kakuzu questions, then casts a side-glance at Hidan. "This kid?"
"Yes, that kid," Kisame says, with a roll of his eyes.
"Why didn't you sleep?" Kakuzu asks Hidan, and Hidan sighs

Chapter Ten: Fallen Angel
"Here. Eat."
I watch as Hidan wrenches himself away from Kakuzu's side, collapsing against the chair as he props himself upright. His face is contorted into an expression of agony, and Kakuzu frowns, placing a bowl in his shaking hands.
Absently, I stroke Sasori's hair as I watch the pair exchange soft words. The red-head had fallen asleep some three hours ago, and his head had come to rest on my shoulder; naturally, I had left it there. I suppose there's no need to mention that I am secretly enjoying his warmth at my side, and the way his hair is tickling my cheek.
Regrettably, it has to end. "Hey," I whisper, s

Chapter Nine: Only Human
"Nngh... what, Kakuzu?"
Roused from sleep by the desperate call of his name, Hidan rolls over in Kakuzu's arms, ignoring the pain coursing through his body and running the back of his hand over bleary violet eyes. He winces when the wound in his right side comes in contact with the blanket, and a small gasp escapes his lips, but he manages to bite back his cry of agony. Kakuzu's arms tighten around him, pulling him close; he can feel Kakuzu's breath, fast and furious and terrified, on the hollow of his neck, and he cranes his head upwards, working on freeing his hands.
It takes him a moment to realize Kakuzu is h

Chapter Eight: Envy
Kakuzu and Sasori collapse outside, exhausted. The gas had taken a toll, made them sleepy as it ran through their veins, and the panting that came with running certainly had not helped.
Despite the fatigue in Kakuzu's bones, the aching in his muscles, and the drowsiness clouding his eyes, Kakuzu pushes himself up onto shaking arms, steadies himself for a moment, then turns towards the door.
"Don't," Sasori chokes, also pushing himself up. He sits cross-legged, then pulls Deidara close to him, inspecting the head-wound with his hands. "It's a suicide mission."
Kakuzu groans as his vision falls into blackness for a momen

Chapter Seven: Move Along, Now
~ ~ ~
Kakuzu is pulled away, just mere inches from Hidan's lips, when the train chugs to a complete halt. He scowls as the lights flicker out, gathering around the duo and plunging them into unfathomable darkness, and reaches for Hidan after a moment - but his fingers come in contact with the carpet. "Hidan," he hisses, waiting for his eyes to adjust so he can see again.
He hears the music from Hidan's headphones still blaring in the room, but it is getting further away every passing second. "One sec, Kakuzu, Jesus," Hidan replies, and Kakuzu sees him get to his feet, then flick at the fuse box. He pulls out

Chapter Five: The Mouse Trap
"This is our newest member."
"This is what you woke us up for? Kakuzu and I are very tired."
"Hidan's right. Is this a joke?"
"I can't see him."
"That's because you're blind, Itachi-san."
"Shut up, Kisame. I don't need to be reminded."
"Sorry I'm late - I got lost. I gave myself the wrong directions."
"How do you give yourself the wrong directions, Zetsu-san?"
"Quiet, carrot top. And you don't need to know."
"Pein, our members are idiots."
"I know, Konan... I know..."
"So what's the douchebag's name, Leader?"
"His name, Hidan, is Tobi."
"Tobi sounds like a good boy."
"That's my line, Kisame. Tobi

Chapter Four: Act II
"Are you okay? You look a little sick."
The voice, though familiar, makes me jump, and I whirl to face... someone. I smile, waving my hand dismissively.
"Good. C'mon, Dei. Let's go to the library."
We stare at each other blankly for a long while, then I finally ask, "Sorry, but... if I may ask, who the fuck are you?"
He blinks. "You sound like a friend of mine - except he wouldn't say sorry. He'd just slap you and then ask, "Who the FUCK are you, douchebag?"." Seeing my confused expression, he shakes his head. "Nevermind. I'm, uh, Sasori."
"Oh." I feel something burning in my cheeks. Of course - how could I forget

Chapter Three: Nightmare
Click, clack. Click, clack.
There are a certain amount of noises that come in the night. Footsteps, knocking, tapping, speaking, and even laughing - and more then half of them escape between human lips. However, there are times in which they are bellowed from the mouths of the shadows, or torn from the throat of the crazy man, or that branch, tap, tap, tapping on your window is a pale hand, ready to pull you into the night.
"Tick, tock. Tick, tock..."
The sounds of a clock - your time is running out.
"Who's there?"
A quote from a song follow the eerie laughter of the one who is taunting him - Deidara, forev
